Carla Paschal- Hunt
I have 2 mediums I enjoy creating with. Acrylic Paints and Anything Glass. Texture is my language, and my creations are my voice. Through thick layers of acrylic paint, I create tactile landscapes of emotion, movement, and depth. My work is an exploration of the raw energy and spontaneity that come from the unpredictable nature of texture—each stroke is an imprint of intuition, each ridge and groove telling a story beyond the surface.
Inspired by the natural world, the interplay of light and shadow, and the fleeting moments of change, I embrace the imperfections and unexpected beauty that arise in the process. The palette knife allows me to sculpt paint rather than simply apply it, building layers that invite both visual and physical interaction.
With Mosaic glass, a fusion of color, light, and texture that tells stories through fragments. Each shard, cut and placed with intention, represents a moment, an emotion, or a connection in my thought process. I am drawn to the tactile nature of both glass and thick bodied acrylics. My inspiration often comes from nature, architecture, and the organic patterns found in everyday life. Through my mosaics, I seek to create pieces that evoke both energy and serenity, inviting viewers to find their own meaning in the interplay of color and form. I embrace the imperfections and spontaneity of these mediums. Mosaic, for me, is about transformation—turning broken pieces into something whole, something meaningful, something that endures.
My art is a celebration of movement, of color in its boldest form, and of the unspoken narratives hidden within texture.
